Blakstad’s classic-meets-contemporary design language finds fresh expression at this rural finca, currently undergoing renovation and due for completion this summer. Found just outside San Lorenzo, the house sits within a quiet pocket of countryside, where wide-open views and a profound sense of seclusion shape daily life.
Nature is a constant presence here. Framed by rolling hills, the finca is designed to blur the boundary between inside and out, drawing light and landscape deep into its interiors. There’s a timelessness to the architecture: Sabina beams, natural stone and tactile timber balance expansive openings and clean lines.
The main living space unfolds as a sequence of interconnected rooms: a fireplace-warmed snug, a central salon illuminated from above by a dramatic skylight, and a dining area that opens towards the countryside beyond. From here, the kitchen extends to a bougainvillea-covered veranda, creating an easy-going setting for long lunches and al fresco evenings.
Outside, more than 15,000 square metres of land wrap the house in privacy. A swimming pool and shaded terraces sit among original stone walls and mature planting that feel like a natural extension of the surroundings.
The principal suite opens onto its own private terrace and shares the same understated material palette: rustic beams, generous glazing and soft, neutral tones. Five additional bedroom suites are arranged across the ground and lower levels, alongside flexible spaces that could become a wellness zone, cinema room, gym or wine cellar.
