Architecture takes its cues from the landscape at this Roca Llisa new-build, one of a cluster of residences designed by architect Fran Silvestre. Three low-slung volumes follow the natural slope of the hill, stepping down from entrance to living spaces and bedrooms below – with each level opening towards a panorama of pine-covered hills tumbling to the sea.
Nothing gets in the way of those views. A concrete plane just 15 centimetres thick lends the villa a sense of weightlessness, its sculptural form almost receding into the setting. Deep overhangs cast shifting shadows, while full-height glazing with slender frames brings the outdoors into every room. White walls, pale stone and pared-back joinery keep the interiors equally quiet.
Life unfolds across one fluid level, with sitting and dining areas flowing towards a discreet Gaggenau-equipped kitchen in bespoke oak. Glass doors slide away to a terrace and floating saltwater infinity pool, where the distinction between inside and out all but disappears.
Five bedrooms occupy the lower level, each opening towards the greenery for a more intimate connection to the surroundings. Comfort runs quietly in the background, with an aerothermal system providing underfloor heating, air conditioning and hot water, alongside heat-recovery ventilation and integrated smart-home controls. A rainwater tank, on-site wastewater treatment and filtration, and supplementary water storage help the villa make the most of its resources through Ibiza’s dry summers.
