Contemporary in its bones and country at heart, this three-floor home has been reimagined by Alan Power Architects, with light and bold design choices that carry from one level to the next.
On the ground floor, the open-plan living space catches the light from every direction. Sun pours through a skylight into the kitchen, where buttery yellow cabinetry meets stone brought over from Aix-en-Provence. Dinesen floorboards lead on to the dining and reception space, its crisp white walls giving the room a bright, gallery-like feel. Here, glass doors give way to a peaceful patio garden.
Upstairs, a barrel-vaulted ceiling lifts the second reception room to an impressive height. Built-in shelving makes it an easy fit for a study or playroom, and the glazing opens onto a small balcony that looks out over the trees.
The principal suite shares this floor, quieter in mood, with muted tones, panelled walls and pastel details. Its intricately tiled shower and steam room are a real showpiece. Pierre Frey fabric brings a playful edge to two further bedrooms, one with its own shower room. At the very top of the house, the fourth bedroom is built around a bed set into rattan cabinetry and steps out onto a decked terrace with views across the Notting Hill rooftops.
For warmer days, the principal suite and top-floor bedroom both have air conditioning.
