Humbert & Poyet have once again expertly transformed a space to create one of the most prestigious residential high-rises in the world. The interior architecture agency, which specialises in residential and hospitality projects, took inspiration from the legendary surrounding landmarks, which are steps away from the famous Casino square, Hotel de Paris, the One Monte Carlo shopping centre and Hotel Hermitage, to present a truly knockout creation and the latest addition to Monaco’s design-led residences.
The 19 floor building, including a penthouse spanning four floors, rooftop pool and spa, was developed by Groupe Segond Immobilier and designed by Cabinet A. Giraldi before Humbert & Poyet transformed the interiors to convey the studio’s signature noble materials, detail and references to the Art Deco period of space. The accompanying 360-degree perspectives over Monaco and the surrounding sea and mountains only adds to the indulgent space that is 26 Carre Or.
Patterned black and white marble flooring, statement doors featuring brass panelling and bronze handles, and decadent staircases finished with ironwork guardrails all contribute to create an overall striking effect upon entering. Perhaps our favourite detail would be the custom-designed chandeliers hanging from the staircase – simply divine. Shades of beige, grey and ivory adorn the apartments and set an elegant tone in place from the onset, and marble dominates as the selected material, imported from the best Italian quarries.
From the intricate moldings, wall panels to the striking black marble columns, every single detail is a work of art on its own. As the studio notes, ‘the building’s position provides the unique opportunity of viewing the Principality of Monaco in its entirety. The most exclusive among the apartment, with the most cherishes views, is undoubtedly the penthouse that crowns the residence.’
The most impressive of them all, the top-top penthouse houses a private panoramic lift, Art-Deco style staircase and rooftop terrace with infinite pool surrounded by plants and an open-plan dining pocket. Evoking an undeniable sense of opulence, we can’t help but applaud the final result of what is truly a one of a kind space to call home. Bravo to Humbert & Poyet on completing a seriously cool and grand residence that has made headlines for all the right reasons.
