XOCO 325 is a hot new ground-up apartment development in the heart of SoHo, one of the world’s most coveted residential neighborhoods and luxury retail mecca. On the site of a former chocolate factory, it’s aptly named using the Catalan word for chocolate; the design of XOCO 325 is just as delicious as its namesake.
Developed, designed, constructed and managed by DDG, the exterior of the 21 apartment development has subtly channeled Gaudi while elegantly referencing SoHo’s celebrated cast-iron buildings. The striking cast-aluminum façade, which seems to float in front of the glass wall, is a modern interpretation of the district’s historic cast-iron loft buildings.
Forging a balance between classic and contemporary design, the impressive design extends beyond the façade into the interiors. The lobby is outfitted with a bluestone floor and a custom chandelier. Sculptural walls are richly textured with board-formed concrete and complement in-situ cast-concrete furnishings.
The striking apartments on offer range from one to four-bedroom and feature open layouts, custom sculptural plaster work and Austrian white oak floors. It’s the finer design detail in the model apartment that has our senses on high alert. The gorgeous furniture is by BDDW who are an American company focussed on well-designed and crafted pieces. The accessories are by M.Crow, whose owner likes making from scratch the things he wants or needs and making extras and trying to sell them. The apartments also feature Lindsey Adelman luxe minimalist light fixtures and exquisite wallpaper by Calico.
From the organic shapes of Gaudi to the lines and colours of the finishes, the development is nothing short of thrilling.
