Pine-studded hills wind their way up to Can Reposo, a hideaway set within six acres of forest, orchard and landscaped gardens. Minimalist architecture by Mark Guard celebrates the surroundings – think entire walls of glazing that glide open to ocean panoramas, a sprawling roof terrace that catches the sunset, and calming bedroom suites styled by interior designer Rosarinho Gabriel, all with access to outside space.
Sleek architectural geometry meets the cerulean blue of the sea and sky, creating a striking first impression. Inside, interiors are designed to accentuate the setting; micro cement surfaces offset the vivid pine forest greens beyond, as vast expanses of glass dissolve all sense of boundary with the outside. Days here drift between morning stretches on the yoga deck to golden hour on the rooftop terrace and evenings at the outdoor bar hidden among the trees.
There’s an ease wherever you are – the open-plan living and dining space wraps around to a well-equipped kitchen, offering a natural sense of flow and space for socialising, while a statement fireplace adds an atmospheric touch.
Outside is just as inviting. A sunken lounge bridges the gap between interior and exterior, with another log burning fireplace for cooler evenings and a SONOS sound system. A huge pergola comfortably seats 20 and comes with a charcoal barbecue; pick your own fresh produce from the vegetable garden and orchard. Beyond, loungers and a covered chillout surround the 18-metre infinity pool, as olive and pine trees provide dappled shade to take in the scenery.
The calming mood continues back inside. Three of the villa’s five bedrooms are tucked away off a courtyard on the ground floor, while two further suites are found upstairs, offering privacy and direct access to a large roof terrace, bathed in evening light. Smart TVs and B&W docks cocoon each space in comfort.
For the silver screen experience, there’s also a cinema room with Sky TV. Underfloor heating and open fires add an element of cosiness as the mood requires. Day-to-day, a house manager and maid service keep things running like clockwork.
