A private road leads through lush landscape to the home, with its cubic exterior making a bold stamp against the rural surroundings. Throughout the property, a peaceful atmosphere is conjured with minimalist interior design. The kitchen is a calming setting for culinary innovation, centred by an Italian marble island and surrounded by  a range of hi-tech Gaggenau appliances and bespoke wooden cabinetry. This contemporary scheme is carried through into the living space, where soaring ceilings and a mezzanine level are mesmerising focal points. Sliding glass doors wrap around the room and open to the garden beyond; there’s a streamlined feel here, with the same stone used across the inside and outside floors.

Volume and materials are used to captivating effect in the outdoors dining area. Whitewashed columns stretch upwards to a wooden ceiling canopy, while oversized glass pendant lights hang down and cast a warm glow come evening time. Sandstone steps lead to the sun terrace and 22-metre saltwater pool. Cool off in the shaded lounge area and gaze out to the verdant gardens and mature trees that circle round the plot. Elsewhere in the grounds, a wooden deck is an ambient setting for yoga and entertaining.

Each of the five bedroom suites have been imagined for ultimate relaxation, with four of the rooms in the main villa and one contained in a separate guest house. Neutral-toned Italian linens and contemporary lighting keep things modish, while vast picture windows frame soothing countryside views. In the en suite bathrooms, oversized stone tiles are a seamless backdrop for modern bathtubs, rainfall showers and Travertine dual vanities.
