Inside, the interior design is built on timeless foundations, from wooden beams to natural stone. Rustic charm doesn’t come at the expense of contemporary comforts though. The living space is voluminous with whitewashed walls and high Sabina ceilings that inject character and warmth. Pared-back details lend an easy-going atmosphere and glass doors open onto a covered dining terrace that overlooks the pool and the abundant pine forest beyond.

The kitchen also retains remnants of its farmhouse heritage; a soaring chimney breast accentuates the double height ceiling while dark granite, a stone sink and wooden cabinetry work in harmony with the architecture of the building.

The original bones of the finca continue to shine through in the bedrooms – particularly the principal suite, which features an impressive Sabina wooden ceiling. It leads into a huge en suite bathroom, with a freestanding stone bathtub, pebble floors and doors out to a small terrace. Natural materials feature heavily in three further bedrooms – two of which are in the main house, and one in its own separate casita, perfect for visiting guests or staff.

Surrounded by trees, the outside space is undeniably calming. Take a dip in the inviting curved pool without feeling overlooked, then retreat to the covered chill-out to shelter from the sun or explore the tiered garden.
