Maria Sejas Balda’s ceramics are created through spontaneity and experimentation, influenced by global design and philosophies.
Inspired by nature, architecture and the Japanese philosophy of wabi sabi — the beauty that develops with everyday wear and tear of objects — Maria Sejas’ pottery is engaging in its eclectic form. Some pieces recall the curves and colours of sand dunes, while others echo Brutalist design with bold tones and stark edges.
She creates all her artwork from her Las Salinas studio, working for private clients and homeware showrooms CasaBedouinin San José and Particular in Jondal, as well as a host of restaurants across the island. You’ll see her pieces at The Beach Caves, Ibiza Food Studio and Cooking in Motion, as well as the Michelin-starred restaurant La Gaia, and Walter Sidoravicius’ Omakase sushi bar.
