An award-winning boutique architecture and design practice pushing the boundaries of contextual modernism.
As if the name didn’t give it away, this disruptive practice has been changing the face of architecture and interior design since its inception in 2013. Based in Dubai and London, this RIBA-chartered practice – one of the first of its kind outside the UK – is helmed by Principal Architect Jonathan Ashmore and Head of Creative Development Militza Ashmore, who have carved the firm’s reputation as pioneers of contextual modernism.
Anarchitect’s portfolio is as diverse as its clientele. Builds for residential, luxury hospitality, wellness, cultural and office purposes are spread across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, eschewing traditional forms in search of the perfect nexus of globally inspired, contemporary design, high fashion and understated luxury. Work includes an installation based on the circadian rhythm at Dubai Design Week; Al Faya Lodge & Spa, set among the terracotta sands of the UAE’s Sharjah Desert Park; and the residential Dubai Hills Villa, where playful light, intimate pockets and cool aesthetics provide an antidote to Dubai’s hot summers.
