Haptic is an inventive young practice with its roots in London and Oslo. Their ethos is to design buildings and spaces that are rigorous in their pragmatism, elegantly composed and above all, have a focus on quality and craftsmanship. Haptic, referring to the sense of touch, is a guiding force for their design work; they strive to determine the haptical qualities for each project and how they will benefit the end users. This translates in materiality, spatial relationships, light and the building’s relationship with the site. The clarity of their architecture is a direct nod to their Norwegian provenance, and feels right at home in far-flung Norwegian fjords or likewise in the heart of the city. A testament to their prowess, the team was recently invited by Stanhope to design a series of six luxury apartments on top of prestigious Television Centre as part of the project’s premium scheme: the Architects’ Series.
