Carl Turner Architects was formed in 2006, and has established a reputation for high-impact, low-cost architecture. The practice was recently recognised as one of the best offices producing small projects [below £1m] finishing joint runner up in the AYA Small Project Architect of the Year Awards 2012. In 2013 the firm went on to win the award in the ‘One-Off House’ category. Notably, the Slip House in Brixton has picked up a host of awards including Homes and Property’s Eco Living Award 2013, WAN World House of the Year 2012, shortlisted to the last six in Architizer A+'s awards for Best World House 2013, AR World House of the Year Awards 2013 and winner of both RIBA'S London Regional and National Award in 2013 - the only London house to win an award and one of only three UK houses. The house went on to win the Manser Medal 2013.
