Renowned architects and designers are adapting traditional designs to bring Ibiza’s heritage homes into the 21st century. In this selection of reimagined fincas, find time-honored edifices skillfully transformed to cater to modern life, with contemporary styling that pays homage to the island’s rich heritage.

Finca Alma

Reconnect with nature at Finca Alma – a villa that embodies Ibiza’s more tranquil side. Drawing on the textures and tones of its surroundings, interiors recall original Ibicencan architecture with exposed wood beams and textural marble walls. Interior styling draws on the finca’s heritage for a seamless feel, while outdoor spaces are designed to blend effortlessly with their serene surroundings. Modern amenities include a home cinema and an indoor and outdoor sound system.

Can Bikini

Laidback living embodied, Can Bikini welcomes the island’s slower pace. Though thoroughly modernised, its Ibicencan influences are palpable with an imposing white façade and narrow windows. Inside, interiors by TG Studio lean more modern in style. Expansive glass doors create an airy feel, and a skylit Doca kitchen is fully fitted with contemporary appliances. There’s a seamless feel to the flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Take in hillside views of Ibiza from the curved infinity pool or unwind in one of the several chillout areas.

Can Bikini is available for longer-term rentals (minimum 31-day booking period).

Finca Encanto

Nestled in the northern hillside, this rescued 400-year-old monastery effortlessly captures the essence of the Balearics. Revived by designers Diego Alonso and Alexeja Pozzoni, sensitive renovations remain in keeping with the original style. Knotted juniper beams, stone hearths, and earthy tones all affectionately recall the monastery’s heritage. Outside, the grounds take design cues from Balinese gardens. Bringing a contemporary touch – marble-wrapped bathrooms, styled spotlighting and a glass-clad yoga studio.

Finca Encanto is available to rent.

Villa Mariposa

Set on a rural five-hectare plot, this Spanish farmhouse has been creatively reimagined as a rustic-luxe villa. First designed by renowned architecture studio Blakstad, recent renovations combine contemporary fixtures with traditional features. Finca La Inika

The vision of architect Ted Milano and interior design studio Studio C, Finca La Inka is a lesson in shape and form. The curves of its original arches are picked up in the rounded edges of headboards, wardrobes and freestanding baths. Wood, stone tiles and plaster set a soothing tone, while statement, sculptural furniture pops against white-walled backdrops. Private nooks and communal spaces are found throughout, offering corners for pause and play. The outside is just as inviting: rustic wooden doors draw you to an oval-shaped saltwater pool, skirted by tactile stone walls.
