Having amassed technical and creative prowess across the world, Yvette Spowers is a self-taught ceramicst that champions Ibiza’s ever-growing arts and craft community.
Before reaching the White Isle, Yvette Spowers was an artist in Barbados and California — where she worked as an apprentice to William Attaway, best known for his mosaic column found by The Breakwater on Venice Beach. Since moving to Ibiza, she’s expanded her practice amongst like minded creatives.
From vases to lampshades and sculptural maquettes, Yvette’s designs are smoke fired, which is a traditional method of creating pottery. She’s deeply inspired by nature, and uses a range of local plants in the smoking process to further her artworks’ connection to the natural landscape. Outside of her studio in Santa Gertrudis, you’ll find her artwork featured at KsaR Living along the infamous San Joan Road.
