With over thirty years’ experience, founder Bruno Erpicum believes it is the landscape – rather than the architect – that creates a successful building. The Brussels-based studio place emphasis on erganomic, bold and sleek construction that allows natural surroundings to take centre stage. Working in urban and rural residencies across the world, they execute an aesthetic simplicity which belies the complexity of their construction.

Indeed, the studio’s projects have seen all sorts of intersections with nature. In Golf, a project in Belgium, a voluminous family home sits nestled into a slope, grasses growing on the entirety of the roof. Casa Forana in Ibiza responded to the scale of the landscape, using shapes and textures sympathetic both to the surroundings and to the weathering process inevitable over time. His most recent project on the White Isle is Can Furnet, vaunting double-height living spaces with a compelling palette of natural materials – stone, concrete and woods that improve with age. Lush Ibicencan vegetation envelops this home in a canopy of privacy.
