A Formentera-based artist whose literary-inspired, sensitively-imagined illustrations and watercolours strike a chord.
Originally hailing from Belarus, Elena Vinyàrskaya first studied languages in Minsk, before delving into the world of art and illustration. Following a move to the peaceful isle of Formentera in 2017, Elena found time to explore and develop her artistic talents. Entirely self-taught, her work spans the human form, dance and theatre to architecture and the natural world. Elena has a discerning flair for engaging colours and emotive details.
Her latest body of work – Terra I Somni – pays tribute to the Ibiza-born poet Marià Villangómez, a celebration of the first book published by this coveted lyricist. 20 pieces made in watercolour and graphite, these artworks pose contrasts between the tangible and the idyllic; the real world and our imagination.
