Interior Design
Interior Design

Simple materials and efficient designs, with a human warmth at its core. Uncommon Projects take their cue from the everyday needs of their clients and the existing architecture of their homes to provide bespoke, functional furniture and interior design.

Architect Alan Drumm and product designer James Hoy formed Uncommon Projects in 2011, with a wealth of designing and manufacturing experience and affinity for an early-modernist aesthetic. Coining themselves “project solvers”, they consider the reality of the space they work in, respecting existing architectural details and the creative imagination of their clients.

Uncommon Projects are renowned for their expert precision and attention to detail in their projects, creating spaces that are designed to last for generations. All their cabinetry and furniture are made from high-quality birch plywood, finished with oak, walnut or maple hardwood veneer to ensure a long-lasting durability. For stylish and characterful spaces, they can finish their joinery with a variety of coloured laminates and spray finishes. Uncommon Projects’ furniture has a distinctive character; filling spaces in surprising ways, they are always open to exploring new directions with their creativity.
