Mingling local vernacular with modern design solutions, this multi-disciplinary studio embraces local context for elevated daily life.
Whether it’s architecture, interiors or product design, expect clarity, honesty and hair-splitting attention to detail. Studio Andrew Trotter is defined by its sensitive touch and its unparalleled ability to marry contrasts; modern and historical, rural and modern. The result? Contemporary residential retreats that blend perfectly into the surrounding landscape. Launching his eponymous studio in 2012 and the biannual design magazine, Openhouse, Magazine in 2015, founder Andrew Trotter is a leading authority in simple, organic and people-led architecture.
Harnessing local materials and working with a network of local craftspeople, Studio Andrew Trotter’s collaborative visions may appear simple but are spatially complex responses tailored to the needs of each client. They could be expressed as a whitewashed pied-à-terre in rural Pugliese countryside of Ostuni or the internal refurbishment of three apartments in a heritage building in central Florence. Projects span private homes, to event spaces to boutique hotels across the Continent and further afield.
