Artisans that marry traditional techniques with an environmental conscience. Rapture and Wright satisfy today’s preference for the bespoke, using artisanal methods to ensure high quality pieces.
Rapture and Wright was founded in 2004 by illustrator Peter Thwaites and graphic designer Rebecca Aird in 2004. The duo wanted to transform their portfolio of patterns into a collection of fabrics and wallpapers, and ever since, they’ve been producing colourful, sophisticated products that feel equally at home in city and country dwellings. Their prints feature quintessentially British flora and fauna, but they also draw on architectural styles, Japanese fabrics and 18th-century decorative style from France.
Their Gloucestershire workshop is one of the few remaining handprint studios in the UK; it’s their birthplace of ideas and designs, then transform to beautiful wallpapers and fabrics. The team use traditional techniques whilst looking to the future in everything they do; Rapture & Wright prioritise environmentally sustainable print works, balancing an ecologically-conscious ethos with attractive and innovative designs.
