Jo Thompson Landscape & Garden Design

Landscape Design
Landscape Design

Designing gardens that sit beautifully within their surroundings, Jo Thompson uses an innate understanding of a place to create landscapes that work seamlessly with their locations.

One of the UK’s best-known garden designers, Jo Thompson runs a leading architectural-garden design studio. Known for creating private and public gardens, designs are sensitive to their location and history, as well as intelligently planted.

Her designs are wide ranging, from residential family gardens and historic landscapes to restaurant roof-tops and urban boltholes. Current projects include restoring historic walled gardens, the planting surrounding a 16th Century house, and a roof garden in Rome. Recent restoration projects include the planting at Highgate Cemetery with Gustafson Porter + Bowman, and a secret garden in Venice.

Jo is the recipient of four Gold and five Silver Gilt medals from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and the coveted People’s Choice at the first RHS Chatsworth Flower Show. Her latest book ‘The Gardener’s Palette’ was described by The Sunday Times as “sure to become a classic on the subject”.
