An illustration of contemporary minimalism, Alix Lawson Design blends Scandinavian, Australian and Japanese design aesthetics.
At the young age of 23, Alix founded her first interior design practice in London. Her penchant for clean lines, simple forms and timeless design afforded the practice countless accolades in print and online journals. After 15 years of running her studio, she branched out to launch her interiors lifestyle brand: Alix Lawson Home. Inspired by the colours and textures of nature, her fabrics are imagined for understated interiors – whether that’s in the English countryside, a Balearic villa or urban apartment. Additionally, she has launched her own range of white paint, stating: “I believe choosing white paint should be simple, so I’ve created the only five shades you’ll ever need.”
Her palatial Dubai Hills project is almost sculptural in design and echoes her zen touch – materials, lighting and lines are bold features here. Her portfolio includes a collaboration with De Rosee Sa Architects to overhaul a period Notting Hill home and craft a an elegant, warm and infinitely serene space that allowed the client’s artwork take centre stage.
The resulting interior style is at once tranquil and streamlined, with the guiding ethos that simplicity is the new luxury.
