Daughter of the renowned painter Balthus and Japanese artist countess Setsuko, Harumi Klossowska de Rola has established her very own presence in the world of art. Creating exceptional pieces ranging from fine jewellery to sculptural designs, her work has been exhibited and sold across the world and Harumi herself has worked with some of the most well-respected individuals in the art, design and fashion industries, including John Galliano and Giambattista Valli.
Angelique de Folin’s passion for including a nature quality as a staple feature throughout her work has established her as a vellum-based painting guru, whereby she uses the animal skin material as the base. Her painting technique which holds a rich history and is increasingly becoming an obsolete practice comprises all materials for Folin to produce her works and thereby also holds a form of rarity.
Together, Harumi and Angelique's artworks will be exhibited at the Siegfried Contemporary showroom as of the 24th of June. The exhibition, called Flora & Fauna, will display both artists’ newest pieces in their own respective styles, and the juxtaposition between delicate nature-oriented paintings and strong sculptural pieces as well as jewellery creates a striking effect. The quite opposite styles of art which each artist will showcase in a way unites the two in a beautiful contrast – Angelique bringing the flora and Harumi the fauna. We’re in absolute awe.
