Tala Fustok Studio is an all-female team with a passion to create interiors that are mindful of their surrounding architecture and invoke an emotionality for those who inhabit the spaces.
Interior design mastermind Tala Fustok is no stranger to breathing a new lease of life into both commercial and residential settings. Her portfolio includes the 34-bed boutique Mandrake Hotel in Fitzrovia, formerly an RIBA award-winning office block, now a maze of a space, with dramatic colour schemes, playful design and trippy artwork at every turn. Tala Fustok was the studio behind the transformation of Laylow – a private members club located at the foot of London’s iconic Trellick Tower in Notting Hill. Enveloped in its rich history of music and socialising, the space was expertly imagined from day to night. Think punches of colour, geometric patterns and sensual fabrics.
The team has an expert understanding of spatial character and personality: each of Tala Fustok’s projects are entirely unique, playing with colours and textures, proportions and light. Running throughout, however, is an element of intrigue; whether its eclectic handmade furniture or contrasting fabrics, each space showcases a respect for its architectural and historical context with a style elevated for the modern eye. Her latest project, transforming Brunswick Studios into boutique residential development The WIK, is a more pared-back addition. Nonetheless, Tala’s trademark tenets of comfort and functionality remain and seep into the design of the series of seven studios repurposed from what was once a photography shoot location.
