Back in 2000, American couple Dan Lonergan and Penney Frohling sought to reinvent the nature of furniture buying, propelled by their frustrations over the lack of customisation in this particular field of design. Dan, an architectural designer and Penney, a management consultant, formed Gotham – a company that could provide a tailored service for those wanting specific pieces of furniture.

Based in the heart of Notting Hill, Gotham’s portfolio of items are timeless, focusing on high-quality materials and craftmanship. They also offer a ‘try before you buy’ scheme, allowing their clients to view pieces in situ before committing to a purchase. It’s this kind of flexible and personal approach that has garnered Gotham a wealth of loyal clients who value the time and effort given to their homes. They also provide a black-and-white photography service, partnering with Stuart Redler.
