Taking inspiration from history, Child Studio imagines nostalgic and cinematic spaces that tap into our sentimentality.

Founders Alexy Kos and Che Haung work across hospitality, retail and residential interiors, Child Studios has been gaining recognition for their memorable and filmic environments. Grounded in extensive design research, the central theme of their practice is the deep interest in London’s Modernist heritage and an ambition to create innovative work rooted in local history. They offer new perspectives to form compelling narratives; their spaces are at once nostalgic and contemporary.

A standout project includes the design for eyewear store, Cubitts in Leeds, which showcases an ornate mahogany shopfront, whilst gilded glass and geometric tiles lie indoors. Avoiding any element of pastiche or irony, their work effectively aligns with the surrounding context of the place – imagining how the space could have evolved organically over time.
