A skilfully and dramatically remodelled Notting Hill family home with contemporary elegance and refined, traditional detailing.

Masterminded by Ben Smith Architecture, this unique house was radically transformed by the recent repositioning of its staircase, freeing up the lateral space to each floor.

The property featured two phenomenal living areas; a formal reception on ground level and another at basement. The latter incorporated an incredibly stylish lounge, contemporary kitchen and dining space.

Taking notes from a chic boutique-hotel or members club, this super, super sexy space delivered a sultry vibe. Iconic and eccentric design was chosen and placed expertly; cue a stuffed rabbit in a glass box, gold tree trunk lamp stands and of course, CH24 Wishbone chairs from Carl Hansen.

Open plan to each other, the dynamic zones combined seamlessly. Influenced by the sweeping and open nature of American or Australian architecture, the property was a shining example of clean, contemporary living. The room further opened out to a jawdropping west-facing garden, allowing gatherings from either space to overflow with each other.

Elegance reigned supreme in this home by a stunning wide and inviting entrance lobby that led the way to the formal reception room. The mighty use of colour was perhaps more prevalent here than anywhere else with moody grey, deep taupe and cool stone hues combining sublimely.

The first floor was occupied by a master bedroom suite, featuring a beautiful sleeping space, dark-wood dressing area and indulgent bathroom. With a monochrome colour palette and free-standing bath tub, the bathroom has a Parisian feel.

The property included two additional double bedrooms, both as light and spacious as the other, one family bathroom and one guest cloakroom. A nanny room, complete with a shower room, was also incorporated within the home.

With off-street parking too, there was very little that this property didn’t offer.
