Latticed-glazed wooden doors lend a rustic undertone to this considered home, updated with clean lines and white walls. The interiors draw on the building’s history – first as a place to store carriages, then as a photography studio – with relics from both eras thoughtfully blended under the watchful eye of interior designer Tala Fustok. The result is a functional, welcoming space.
In the open-plan living area, a black Häcker kitchen commands attention complete with a generous island that doubles as a breakfast bar. Contrasting wooden and Chroma flooring is used to subtly separate the eating and lounging zones, adding a seamless flow to the space.
The understated aesthetic continues in the bedrooms. On the ground floor, the principal suite comes with a sleek en suite shower room. Bright white walls provide a canvas for prints and white drapes softly diffuse the light from the floor-to-ceiling doors in the guest bedroom upstairs, which open onto a generous terrace. The family bathroom is similarly inviting, courtesy of Solus ceramic tiles and a skylight that lets sunshine stream in over the bathtub.
