The forest-green exterior sets the stage for this innovative two-bedroom mews house, imagined by architecture studio Teatum + Teatum.

Head upstairs to the first floor to find the open-plan living room and kitchen – a hallmark of natural materials and laid-back minimalism. The joinery has been designed entirely with birch plywood; the lofty fitted shelving, kitchen cabinetry and staircases create visual continuity and fluidity across the space. The double-height aspect creates a bright and voluminous atmosphere, with light accentuating the vermillion-red resin floor. Slide back a folding wood panel to reveal additional shelving and a window, affording the room dual-aspect lighting. An exposed brick wall adds an industrial texture. A laser cut steel bridge leads to the mezzanine bedroom – which can double as a study – leading out to a south-facing balcony, your own private suntrap come warmer weather.

The master suite is located on the ground-floor, characterised by its striking green colour palette. The space is illuminated with light through shutter windows; when closed, the room is luxuriously sophisticated and tranquil. Raw materials – a wall of wainscoting and grey concrete floors – add a natural feel and lead to the en-suite bathroom. A mirrored wall amplifies the space, with the walk-in shower and dusty-pink wall hung basin enhanced by gold faucets. A second en-suite bedroom is located on this floor, with a dichromatic white and burnt-orange design. The bathroom features a fitted bath and geometrical honeycomb tiles.
