Set back from the road in a private gated development, this one-bedroom duplex apartment paints a minimalist scene. With flawless interior design by Tala Fustok, latticed glazed windows and doors lends a historic tone to the property, whilst clean-lines and white walls nod to its modern incarnation at a photography studio site.
Capitalising on its inverted layout, the open-plan reception room is bathed in natural light through a mass of glazing. A vaulted ceiling draws the eye upwards to where exposed ebony joists command attention and well-angled spotlights illuminate the social space. Contrasting wood and Chroma flooring is used to subtly create eating, lounging and cooking zones. A matte-black Häcker kitchen pairs form with function: smooth surfaces and a mirrored splashback neatly frame high-spec integrated appliances. From the television area, a Crittall-framed door leads onto a private terrace.
The minimalist aesthetic ensues in the double bedroom downstairs. The dark wooden headboard and floors offer a natural materiality, offset by whitewashed tones that span the rest of the room. A free-standing tub is poised for long soaks, whilst the en suite’s walk-in shower is equally as stylish with green Solus tiles.
