Architecture

A collaboration by design. Marrying principles of space, light, materiality and functionality with personalities and interests of their clients, 23 + GS / 318 are building a sustainable future.

Based in North Kensington, 23 + GS / 318 is an architecture and interior design studio that unites two innovative and noteworthy architectural practices: 23 Architecture and Guy Stansfeld Architects. Stuart Robertson and Guy Stansfeld had been keen collaborators early in their careers, and decided to pool their skills and expertise together in 1997. Drawing on a vast body of collective experience, their projects are at once beautiful and practical, reflecting the personalities of their clients and their penchant for structure, materials and light.

Past projects include the respectful yet dynamic refurbishment of a Victorian terrace on Horbury Crescent in Notting Hill. Its five-storey offset helical staircase saw the project, a collaboration between RIBA-chartered Stuart Robertson of 23 + GS / 318 and interior designer Fran Hickman, longlisted for a Dezeen interiors award. Elsewhere: the fit-out of Soho’s Frith Street Gallery, an eco-house in Cornwall and a former London hospital reimagined as a family home.
