Swan Wharf, Hackney Wick

We agree: WOW. The Swan Wharf Project is the latest venture from The Hive and Secret Productions a.k.a the people behind Secret Garden Party. If you love architecture and don't mind a bit of rough, this space will have you all over in goosebumps.

Previously a warehouse occupied by The Sofa Workshop, Swan Wharf boasts an unbelievably unique location on the Grand Union Canal, opposite the Olympic Stadium in Hackney Wick and the cusp of the urban east and Stratford. Recently taken over, the space is now a versatile venue that can be used for creative business events, parties, raves, photo and video shoots or production needs - whatever you want it to be, it will be.

With over four floors and a fully enclosed courtyard available for hire, Swan Wharf is the ideal location where each level has a distinctly different look and feel. The near all-white ground floor is the perfect reception space with a wood-decked bar area that undoubtedly takes inspiration from Piet Hiek Eek. Take a trip to the second floor that's so New York loft-style cool - it's only when you're up here that you truly grasp the expanse, size and sheer volume of the space. Where we're so used to constricted central London townhouses and in-demand space measured by sq ft, Swan Wharf punches an unbelievable sense of raw architectural excitement into the air where space comes in its shiploads. It's this floor that definitely has the more creative feel with exposed brick walls, cement floors and white-painted columns with rebellious grafitti and doodle art.

You then go up to the heavens to the third floor, or the penthouse level as it's been suitably called. We think it's the sleekest of them all and would go so far to say that the property prospect here is one the the coolest we've seen. Dim the lights and you have London's sexiest top-floor pad with incredible views - yes, that is the Olympic stadium directly in front of you and wow, London looks sensational up here too. With the various rooftop terraces and balcony spots, this truly is one heck of a space.

With 'The Great Stage' emblazoned over the courtyard wall, we couldn't help but come over all silly and reminisce about our fantastical summer trip to Secret Garden Party, just imagining the good times that will be had here. The prospect for Swan Wharf is incredible and with Secret Productions and The Hive behind it, we know it's only going to be insane.
