MINT DESIGN

Mint for London Design Festival

18th Sep 2014

For London Design Festival 2014, design extraordinaire and Mint owner Lina Kanafani has curated a show, 'Elements of Craft', with a diverse selection of works that illustrate craft’s impact on the design process.

Collaborations with Agape Casa and Established & Sons present classic works by Angelo Mangiarotti and Roy McMakin of Domestic Furniture while Meritalia provides further pieces from the same era by Achille Castilglioni and Gaetano Pesce. Cast alongside these seminal 70s and 80s examples are exciting and experimental pieces from over 30 new international designers, many of which have been handpicked from Milan and the UK graduate shows.

In addition, Mint exhibits a new lighting installation by Marcus Tremonto as well as new bodies of work from designers who have collaborated with Mint before including Umberto Dattola, Alcarol and Hillsideout amongst others. Aside from this array the show also includes collections from three Czech institutions including Krehky Gallery, Lasvit and the Prague Academy of Arts School, Umprum.
