A small but well-stocked florist where they really know their blooms, Harper and Tom’s has been at the cutting edge of its trade for more than 25 years. Still in its original location on the corner of Elgin Crescent and Kensington Park Road, the Harper and Tom’s stall always brightens up with street with its colourful displays and cheerful, helpful staff. Here at Domus Nova we’re there every week to pick up beautiful flowers for the office. There’s always a great selection to choose from, with a full range of seasonal flowers, many of them English-grown (we love the branches of apple and cherry blossom in spring), as well as Dutch tropical imports and foliage. And all year round they have potted plants that are perfect for brightening up a city living room, kitchen table or window box. Copied all over the western world, Harper and Toms’s were the first florist in London to replace layered bouquets with tied bunches. Its customers now come from all over the capital and two years ago, Red magazine named their Christmas wreath one of the best. As well as the Elgin Crescent stall, there’s also a Harper and Tom’s shop on Clarendon Road where you can pick up bigger plants and planters, and arrange for flowers to be delivered. Whatever you want flowers for, whether it’s a wedding, a gift or a treat for yourself, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for.
