Hailing from Sicily's Misterbianco [Catania], Antonio Iraci graduated from the Architecture Faculty of Reggio Calabria in 1988 with honours. In January 1989 he launched the Archiline studio as an architectural lab for experimental research and projects. He has famously created the ZASH Country Boutique Hotel [as featured on Domus Loves], for which he was awarded the Ischia International Architecture Award [PIDA] for excellence in architecture. His partner and fellow designer Carla Maugeri, a member of the family that originally owned the manor house and surrounding property of ZASH, studied architecture at the Architecture Faculty of Siracusa. Maugeri has worked at the Archiline studio since 2008, where she actively customises design architecture.
