Brazilian firm Studio MK27 was founded by architecture legend Marcio Kogan in the early 1980s. Having graduated from Mackenzie University in 1976, his firm today comprises of a multitude of architects, in addition to collaborators located in various parts of the world. The architectural practice highly values formal simplicity, always focusing in the finer details and finishes while great admirers of the Brazilian Modernist generation. The firm has won several international awards including Record House in 2004 and 2005, the D&AD “Yellow Pencil” in 2008 and 2009, the Dedalo Minosse in 2008 and the Barbara Cappochin of the Padova International Biennial in 2007. Paraty House [pictured] is undoubtedly one of our favourite-ever projects...
