The Rum Kitchen is 'a Caribbean inspired beach shack restaurant and cocktail bar' nestled in the heart of Notting Hill. The guys behind it previously set up Love Brunch and Ping in Earls Court, and notably launched Bungalow8, Whisky Mist and Mahiki. The location on All Saints Road couldn't be better, echoing the roots of where Carnival truly began. With a hidden cellar housing more than 100 varieties of rum, cocktails developed by Imogen Elliot (formerly of Portobello Star/Trailer Happiness) and music by DJ Fast from The Fun Lovin' Criminals. The Kitchen is steered by Head Chef Darren Williamson who was born and raised in Ladbroke Grove. There are classics of jerk chicken and curried goat alongside surprises including roast cod in coconut milk with Scotch bonnet or brown-stew oxtail with butter beans. The interior is insanely cool too - very chilled out and so fitting for the area. All Saints Road has got its groove back.
