Take a look at our past. The true spirit of Domus Nova and all we stand for.

PINK LADY

Shalcomb Street, SW10

Owned by an art dealer, this Chelsea property occupies four floors in total. Upon purchase, the owners filled the property with bland carpets and neutral white walls with a view to let their home while living in Hong Kong. When the couple returned, they enlisted the help of Roland Cowan Architects and interior designer Christian de Falbe to completely gut the house. They created a central lightwell to stretch from the first-floor bathroom down to the open-plan kitchen / family room on the lower ground floor – “We wanted to create a harmonising flow to make every room feel connected”.

Along with pieces of bold pop art, the interior’s palette adds a twist to period structures and 1920s-style furniture. “Apple green and ice-cream pink is one of my favourite colour combinations. I had it in my childhood bedroom and have loved it ever since”, says the owner. Definitely a haven of fabrics and embellishments, there’s always something interesting that will catch the eye whether it be feather and crystal bead-trimmed curtains in the master bedroom or the 1970s-style silhouette painted on the kitchen wall.

The vibe is very boudoir, very French-chateau and a dash nightclub. Miami junk shops, Paris flea markets and even eBay were her favoured sources for collecting her often inexpensive array of furniture. Stuart Semple’s portrait of Ms Gaga is one the many unexpected yet brilliant features that come together to create this vibrant pop-art filled home.

It’s a modern-day family home or one of the greatest party pads ever.
