Blenheim Crescent, W11
What is black and white and cool all over? At first glance one would be forgiven for thinking this maisonette was a warehouse conversion overlooking The Thames. Believe it or not, it is the top two floors of two Victorian villas in Blenheim Crescent. With huge double-height vaulted ceilings and massive picture windows, the look is industrial chic at its very best.
The double reception room is big enough for the biggest party. In fact, one of the biggest challenges will probably be sourcing the oversized furniture needed to accommodate the scale of this impressive room. Catering on an industrial scale should not be a problem, either, with the stainless steel kitchen that would not be out of place at a commercial restaurant. The mirrored ceiling only amplifies this volume of this huge flat.
The colour scheme is deliberately pared down to let the architecture speak for itself. Black wenge floors contrast with stark white walls and ‘old school’ radiators while upstairs, the two generously sized bedrooms – each with their own en-suite bathroom and access to a balcony – feature a white-on-white palate that exudes serenity.
This flat just proves that big is definitely beautiful.
