PRINCE EDWARD MANSIONS
This elegant and refined five-bedroom, split-level penthouse evoked the feeling of a Parisian salon thanks to N-Studio’s exceptional refurbishment. Set within a much sought-after red brick Victorian mansion block in the heart of Notting Hill, the apartment’s living spaces boasted a south-facing aspect which made the muted colour palette glow throughout the day.
As the studio notes, their main focus was on ‘reinstating the traditional elegance of this historic property and in turn creating a stunning backdrop for the FF&E [furniture, fixtures and equipment] detailing. Inspirational sourcing at Paris’ antique markets resulted in a cleverly curated interior with an eclectic mix of modernity and vintage style.’
At the top of the building on the fifth floor was the open-plan kitchen / breakfast room and drawing room. The elegant panelling and oak parquet floors throughout gave a sense of the building’s heritage, while the dramatic walnut wood and marble used in the kitchen brought in a modern sensibility. Two luxurious guest bedrooms, a family bathroom and the exquisite master bedroom suite were also located on this level.
Craftsmanship was on display in every detail. The master bedroom’s sleek walk-in wardrobe and the stunning en-suite bathroom with separate vast shower and freestanding bath made this a space to linger in.
Down the bespoke oak staircase with its beautiful brass detailing was a fourth en-suite bedroom, while the media room / fifth bedroom was cleverly tucked away to offer the perfect retreat.
N Studios succeeded here in creating a warm and inviting family home which celebrated its heritage without compromising on modern design. From the fixtures and fittings to the sophisticated furniture and art choices, this apartment was a masterclass in craftsmanship.
